I was introduced into Horse Racing at an early age of seven. Trying to read the Daily Racing Form before going to school each morning. I knew every Horse, Trainer and Owner by the time I attended High School. My parents had a total of 40 horses over those years running at tracks such as Keystone (now Parx Casino and Race Track), Garden State, Atlantic City, Penn National, Delaware Park and Monmouth Race Track. My favorite horse they owned was in 1982. A mare named Bambic who won 7 races in 19 starts that year alone. She was the granddaughter to 1962 3rd place Kentucky Derby finisher Ridan.
I then began riding horses every chance I got on weekends and even got to ride a Thoroughbred on 1/2 mile training track. I guess now a days that might be on some people's Bucket List of being on a race horse when he opens up at full speed. Incredible feeling!
I actually got to work for a local trainer when I was not at my regular job. I would have worked for free back then just to be around the industry in some capacity.
Later my wife of 36 years, Denise and I owed several horses including "Laugh a Minute" who still owns three track records at Parx Race Track since 1992. I attended Bucks County Community College and then Holy Family University. I work full time as an accountant for Pearl Associates. Denise and I have a 25 year old son "Kevin" who attends Stockton University and is also in the Military.
With me you will get a very approachable people person. My intensity and love "for the game" hopefully will be infectious to our partners.
